Bun Tutorial
{Big Bun} Directions
1. Put your hair in a really high ponytail.
2. Wrap your piece of pool noodle (about 3-4 inches tall) around your pony (make sure to have a slit, so you can put the noodle piece around your pony).
3. Push up your pony in the back, and it will start to wrap around the noodle. Secure the the hair around the foam with another rubberband.
4. Wrap remaining hair around the bun and secure with bobby pins. Now you're a hot lil' mama!
{Notes}
When I was little, my friend Ashley and I would make outfits out of the most horrid fluorescent fabrics (as of course we could only get our hands on scraps we could find laying around our houses ... and it was the 80s, hence the fluorescent). And what's worse is then we would convince my little sister that our outfits were totally cute and she should wear them to school. Oh gosh, we were terrible. In our defense though, we were totally convinced ourselves that our outfits were "so cool."
For this shoot, I got to dress up my sister again, and I totally had flashbacks from when I was little dressing her up in our homemade frocks.
This tutorial is so necessary for me and for anyone who doesn't have ridiculously thick and ridiculously un-fine hair! I don't know about you, but I can never recreate those really pretty BIG buns you see on all of the models and celebrities, and I really want to. Sure they have hair extensions, but what if you don't want to get hair extensions. I came up with a little trick using some cheap stuff you probably have laying around the house: pool noodles and bobby pins. So, here is our quick tutorial on how to make a really chic BIG bun. The best part is, pool noodles are only around $0.59! I love a high and sleek bun for summer when it is really hot, like really really hot here in AZ, like 115 degrees hot! See what I am dealing with right now! Ah! But my new cute BIG bun will help!
