I see so many amazing coffee tables in magazines, but I can't afford any of them! Since M and I only spend on decorating what we make from selling our old stuff on Craigslist (remind me to share with you all how we do this), we are on a limited budget. Consequently, our house is almost entirely IKEA. However, IKEA furniture is the best for customizing because it is usually simple and plain. I needed a coffee table really bad for the family room, so I decided to do another IKEA hack. Meet one of my Diagonal Gold Coffee Tables. I have two of them side by side in the family room. You can have some too! Just follow this tutorial.
Cover areas you do not want painted with painter's tape. I continued the diagonal line on the legs. Next, spray paint! If you'd like, you can lacquer the tables after you paint them to avoid scratches or chips (although I haven't had any problem). To lacquer spray several thin coats of lacquer on the tables.
Questions about the tables? Craigslist? The Voice (because I totally know who should win this season)? I'm all ears! Leave your questions in the comments, and I'll get back to you! Thanks for reading my blog!
