DIY Christmas Tree Globe
It would be so fun to use a bunch of these together as an advent calendar with lil' surprises in each. Or just use it as one of your Christmas shelf decorations. Switch out your catch all for this lil' festive number. Buying Christmas decor is always fun but but there is just something special about doing DIY Christmas decorations ... don't ya think?
Blanda Matt IKEA bowls
mini hinge
paint
small paint brush
painter's tape or patterning tape
very thin drill bit
drill
mini Phillips head screwdriver
printable Christmas tree template
First, put the hinge on the bowls to adjoin them. Center the hinge on the rim of the bottom and top bowl. Using a very thin drill bit, drill a small hole where you will put your first screw hinge. Screw in your first screw. Continue doing this until each screw is screwed in. Next, print your template onto card stock. Trace your template onto the bowl. Tape off where you traced the tree. Paint.
Allow to dry for at least two hours. Peel off tape, and voila! You are done!
Don't you just love home accessories that double as storage?
Is this totally out there or do you like it?
