DIY Bedside Table
I can't eat anymore desserts or I am going to be 300 lbs for our wedding! So, I decided to distract myself from all of this yummy Valentine's Day madness with a little project. I didn't want to forget about Valentine's Day all together, so I decided to wrap the first pic with a heart.
I got a little tired of staring at the tired bedside tables we have in our master bedroom. So, I decided to spruce them up a bit! This project is so easy and costs close to nothing! Here are all of my IKEA hacks and projects with black and white stripes (because I am obsessed).
STEPS:
1. Measure the length and depth of your bedside table. These tables are $7.99 each from IKEA.
2. Get a piece of glass cut to fit these measurements. I got the sheets of glass from Home Depot for $10 a piece, and I got the glass cut at ACE for 50 cents a cut. Trace around the glass with a pencil onto whatever fabric you want to use. This fabric is from IKEA, and I got it on sale for $4.99/yard.
3. Cut your fabric along the pencil lines. Place the fabric on top of the table, and place the glass over the fabric. And that is it!!! (I suggest cleaning your table, ironing your fabric, and taking a lint brush to your fabric before placing the glass.)
Don't you just love before + after pics! I'm obsessed with them! The pattern on the tables adds another layer to the room, and the glass on the tables makes them look so much nicer!
Total Project {2 Bedside Tables}:
2 IKEA tables - $162 sheets of glass - $20glass cuts - $2fabric - $5
Total Cost for 2 Custom Bedside Tables = $43
Bedside tables at the store are like $300 a piece! I like the sound of this much better ... don't you?!! There's much more work left to be done in this room, but we are getting there now that we have these custom bedside tables!
Happy Home Decorating!
