I'm obsessed with the faux fur winter hats I keep seeing! So I decided to DIY one! Plus I had some leftover fur fabric from my Faux Fur Wine Bag I made the other day. I hope you likey!
Using the sewing measuring tape measure the circumference of your head, and add one inch. Next, decide how tall you want your hat to be, and add 1/2 inch. Cut a strip of faux fur to these measurements. Sew the short ends of your strip together inside out using 1/2 inch seam. Shape into a circle. It doesn't have to be perfect. Using a ruler, measure the diameter of your circle. Using a compass, trace a circle onto the backside of the faux fur with a diameter (or radius ... radius = 1/2 diameter) equal to your sewn circle of faux fur. Cut out this circle. Using the sewing pins, pin the edges of this circle to your sewn circle of fabric. Make sure the fabric is inside out. Sew together these two pieces of faux fur leaving a 1/2 inch seam. Turn right side out, and voila! You have yourself a stylish faux fur hat.
