I was thrilled to say the least when Shutterfly asked me to share some graduation party ideas inspired by their graduation stationery. This of course meant I got to relive my college (glory) days ;-). Man it was fun thinking if I had to do it all over again, I would have definitely made my graduation party look like this. Ah if I only knew what I know now.
When choosing stationery for this project, this sparkling senior graduation announcement immediately caught my eye. I was inspired by the glitter images paired with the black and white photos. So I went with a gold and white theme mixed with some black and white touches. A huge thank you to my friends at Shutterfly. Also a huge thank you to my friends at Inspired Sugar for doing the AMAZING glitter cake below and for my friends at God's Garden Treasures for doing the gorgeous centerpiece you will see on the dinner table I did below. Finally, a huge thank you to SOHO 63, which is the beautiful backdrop you see and a big thank you to Petite Party Studio for the cake stands, gumballs, and balloons. Man they make me look good.
This gorgeous cake took center stage on the dessert table. I was inspired by a glitter splashed pillow I saw on Pinterest, and Inspired Sugar made this vision come to life in an amazing way.
Inspired Sugar also killed it on these graduation cap sugar cookies as well as the gorgeous sugar cookies below.
Here is the tutorial on how to make these shimmering gold meringues.
I used 36" round gold balloons from Petite Party Studio on the ends of the dessert table. Here is the tutorial for the DIY balloon tassels.
How gorgeous are these Shimmer and Shine Graduation Invitations? They are a part of a different set of stationery from the Sparkling Senior Graduation Announcements but I think they go so well! Don't be a afraid to mix and match stationery as long as there is a common thread. If anything I think it adds another dimension and layer to your set. I used the Elegant Joy Stickers to seal the back of the envelopes in style. In case you are swooning over that package, here is a tutorial on how to tie the perfect bow.
I used the announcements as part of the table decor. Since they stand, they work fabulously as decor.
This party printable collection is now available in my shop.
Here is the full tutorial for the 2014 Graduation Garland.
Here is the full tutorial for the swizzle sticks using these pom poms.
To make these shining macarons, I sprayed some vanilla macarons from Essence Bakery with PME gold spray.
The party circles used to make these cupcake toppers are now available in the shop!
Next I set up the dinner table. I first covered the table with black and white striped fabric from IKEA. I just love black and white stripes next to gold details.
This white hydrangea centerpiece from God's Garden Treasures took my breath away. Here is the full tutorial on how to make these gold vases using materials form the dollar store along with gold contact paper.
I made these gold and white striped candles by wrapping white IKEA candles with gold tape.
I made these place cards using black card stock and a gold calligraphy paint pen.
I can't get over these announcements.
I scattered diplomas on the table for a festive touch! I made these using black construction paper, twine, and a gold paint pen.
I sent guests home with these gold notebooks I got in the dollar section at Target. The dollar section is my happy place.
Finally, I used these Sparkling Senior Thank You Cards. I addressed them using Shutterfly's Scalloped Frame Address Labels.
I hope this graduation party inspired you as much as it inspired me. I had so much fun with this project! A huge hug to Shutterfly . Please let me know what you think of this party spread in the comments below.
