PJs and Pearls Oscars Party for Lauren Conrad
For our next project for Lauren Conrad, Lauren thought it would be super fun to do an Oscars Party in which guests wore their PJs with their finest jewelry and Oscar-worthy hairdo! We couldn't have agreed more! What a cute idea! To check it out on Lauren's site directly, click here.
Here's how to throw a “PJs +Pearls” Oscar Party …
Scene
Set the scene in your living room! We wanted to create an old Hollywood look for this party, so we used a blush, black, white, and gold color palette. We decorated with mercury candle votives, birdcages, and a blush lace table runner to really give the party that vintage feel! Our guests were decked out in Victoria’s Secret pajamas and fabulous jewelry from Bunky Boutique! You will gasp when you see the necklaces and earrings below! To get the Oscars look for the party, visit our post with all of the deets!
Dessert Table
We carried over our color palette to the dessert table, which we sprinkled with our Oscars Party Printables.
Popcorn Bar
You definitely need popcorn at an Oscars party, so we went one step further and featured a popcorn bar! Have fun and get creative with your toppings! We used some healthier choices of course: rosemary salt, a sweet and spicy mixture, all natural caramel sauce, dark chocolate sauce, olive oil, yogurt covered pretzels, dark chocolate covered cranberries, and organic candied peanuts.
Desserts
Other (healthier, of course) desserts, that you can get the recipes for here, included skinny cupcakes, mini bundt cake dark chocolates, healthier organic macarons, healthier coconut cake, and an organic anti-inflammatory flourless dark chocolate cake.
Appetizers
For the appetizers, we served a grapefruit mint salad and brie, peach, and honey cracker bites! They were to die for! We of course have shared the recipes on the blog!
Activities
For the activities, guests kept track of their Oscar picks on ourPrintable Oscar Scorecards.
Outfits
Guests dressed in their PJs. How cute is thisTea Time Chihuahua SweatshirtCoreen wore? It’s from one of our favorite Etsy stores,Nicola and the Newfoundlander. If you think it’s fabulous looking, you should see how it feels! It’s amazingly soft! Psst … we just might be doing a giveaway for it right now!
And of course we couldn’t resist a little DIYing!
Vintage Gold Leaf Wine Glasses DIY
We grabbed some vintage wine glasses at Goodwill, and gold leafed the stems to give them a fancy feel! My inspiration came from Anthropologie! I saw some glasses there that had been gold-leafed, and I thought to myself “I can do that!” We will be sharing the full tutorial on theblogin the next few days!
Red Carpet Backdrop DIY
On theblog, we will also share how to create this authentic looking red carpet backdrop from supplies you probably already have laying around your house.
Vintage Popcorn Bags DIY
Another super fun tutorial we have shared are these vintage popcorn bags! Aren’t these fun?! And they are SO SIMPLE to make! You can easily whip them up last minute!
Swag Bags and Boxes DIY
Finally, you can’t leave an Oscar Party without your Swag Bag! To send guests home in style, we got theseColorblock Sweater Totes from Anthropologie and dolled them up with aswag tag printablefrom ourOscars Party Printable Collection! If these totes are a bit too spendy, Anthro also has some white totes for $5 each! We also sent guests home with swag boxes filled with mini macarons! We decorated them with our swag tags and leaves we cut off the stems of black flowers from Michael’s!
