Gingerbread Pancake Decorating Christmas Morning Breakfast
If you are looking for Christmas morning breakfast ideas, I've got a fun one for you today. I wanted to step up the gingerbread decorating game this year and do a gingerbread pancake decorating breakfast. How festive does that sound? Here is a lil inspiration I put together for you on how to host a Gingerbread Pancake Decorating Christmas Morning Breakfast.
Gather the Ingredients
Here is what I used to put this Christmas breakfast together. I absolutely LOVE all of this stuff. I was especially pleased with how the gingerbread pancakes turned out ... yumm-o!
When I was thinking of Christmas morning breakfast ideas, gingerbread immediately came to mind. And pancakes came to mind. Pancakes always come to mind when I think breakfast.
This gingerbread pancake mix from World Market is so good! I may or may not have eaten these for breakfast, lunch, + dinner the day of the shoot. This cute white melamine mixing bowl is a must have as well. It's not breakable, so it's perfect for cooking with the kiddos.
Set the Table
I think plaid is great for the holidays, so I used some plaid plates to contrast with the white table.
You can't have gingerbread pancakes without mini gingerbread men syrups right?
Aren't these mini gingerbread man syrups just perfect for this occasion?
Seating
Let's face it ... we never have enough seating for our guests on holidays. I think it's fun to mix in poufs and stools as seating.
Cozy It Up
Yo've got to get cozy when it comes to Christmas morning breakfast ideas. I love to mix in soft + warm elements with the table setting like a throw, especially when everyone is still going to be in their PJs.
Bring the Outdoors In
I think it's always a good idea to include some organic elements into your tablescape. It serves as a good contrast to the sprinkles.
Keep the Warm Pancakes Coming
Pancakes can get cold quickly, so it's important to have someone manning the skillet or pan to keep those fresh warm pancakes coming!
Gingerbread pancakes are the perfect Christmas morning pancakes don't ya think?
Decorating Supplies
Decorating supplies are obviously a must for this kind of soirée. These peppermint crunch sprinkles from World Market are fun for the kiddos. I made some labels to keep everything looking uniform.
Salted Chocolate Caramel Sauce oh my! These Torani sauces are just as delicious as they sound. Again I created some labels to carry the same black white + red theme throughout.
I used this fruit spread sampler from World Market to fill these cute jars with various flavors of preserves.
This dark chocolate sauce is SO GOOD!
These Winter Wonderland sprinkles are so fun for little kiddos to use when decorating.
You can make pancakes into Christmas shapes by filling cookie cutters with pancake batter right in the pan. Make sure to spray the cookie cutters really well with oil or butter.
Somebody found a mini gingerbread syrup.
Grab a gingerbead cookie cutter and fill it with batter in the pan to make pancakes shaped like gingerbead men.
Is there anything more heavenly than salt + chocolate mixed together. Yes, salt, chocolate + caramel. Can you get any better than this salted chocolate caramel sauce ?
I wanted to do something a lil different than the usual gingerbread house or cookie decorating. What do you guys think? Do you think it's a fun idea? What other Christmas morning breakfast ideas do you have?
